Module 4: Building Your VA Business Lesson 6 of 6 • Module Finale

Launch Day: Your VA Business Checklist and 30-Day Plan

Over the last five lessons you built every piece of a real VA business. Today you put the pieces together, check that nothing is missing, and leave with a 30-day plan that takes you from "ready" to "earning."

An interactive launch checklist covering all of Module 4 Your one-page VA business plan Simple money habits for a new business A week-by-week 30-day launch plan
1What Is It?

Bringing Module 4 Together

Open by celebrating how far they have come, then name today's job
Take a moment and look back. Six lessons ago, "starting a VA business" was an idea. Since then you have chosen your niche and packages (Lesson 13), built your LinkedIn, portfolio and WhatsApp Business (Lesson 14), started reaching out to clients (Lesson 15), built a client conversion kit (Lesson 16), and created a system to keep clients and grow (Lesson 17).

That is a complete business. But a business with missing pieces leaks. Maybe your LinkedIn is done but your proposal template is still a draft. Maybe you sent outreach messages but never set up your invoice. Today we close every gap.

Today has three parts: a full launch audit to check every piece is in place, a one-page business plan so you can see your whole business at a glance, and a 30-day launch plan so you know exactly what to do every week from tomorrow.
2Why Do I Need It?

Why "Almost Ready" Keeps People Stuck

Name the "almost ready" trap and why a deadline breaks it
There is a trap many new VAs fall into. I call it "almost ready." You are always one more tweak away from launching. One more course. One more logo version. One more edit to your LinkedIn headline. Months go by, and nothing has been launched.

The cure is a checklist and a deadline. A checklist tells you when you are truly ready, so you stop polishing. A deadline turns "someday" into "this Monday." By the end of this lesson, you will have both.

Remember: launched and imperfect beats perfect and invisible. You will improve your business with every client. But you cannot improve a business that has not started.
๐ŸŽฏ
The 80% rule If your launch checklist is 80% complete, you are ready to launch. Finish the rest in your first two weeks while outreach is already running.

The Module 4 Launch Audit

Walk through the audit live; ask students to tick as you go
Let us go through the audit together. Tick each item that is fully done, not "nearly done." Be honest with yourself. Your score updates as you go, and your ticks are saved on this device so you can come back and finish later.

4Let's Do It

Your One-Page Business Plan and Money Habits

Explain the one-page plan; show a filled example
You do not need a 40-page business plan. You need one page that answers the most important questions about your business, so that whenever you feel lost or distracted, you can look at it and remember what you are building. Here is an example for a VA who supports coaches.
Example: One-page VA business plan
Business name
Amaka Admin Studio
Who I help
Nigerian and UK-based life and business coaches who are overwhelmed by admin and social media
Problem I solve
They spend 10+ hours a week on inbox, scheduling and posting instead of coaching
My packages
Starter โ‚ฆ120,000 ($75) ยท Growth โ‚ฆ200,000 ($125) ยท Premium โ‚ฆ320,000 ($200) per month
Where I find clients
Warm network, LinkedIn cold DMs, Fiverr, weekly LinkedIn posts
90-day goal
3 retainer clients, about โ‚ฆ480,000 ($300) per month, and 2 testimonials
Daily non-negotiable
5 outreach actions every weekday before 12 noon

Money habits for a new business
Cover basic money discipline without overwhelming them
When the first payment lands, it is very tempting to spend it all. Please do not. Build these four habits from your very first naira or dollar, and your business will be far more stable.
Separate your money
Receive all client payments into one business account or wallet. Pay yourself from it on a fixed date each month.
Track every payment
Use a simple Google Sheet: date, client, amount in โ‚ฆ or $, and what it was for. Track expenses like data and subscriptions too.
Save a portion
Set aside a fixed percentage of every payment for savings, emergencies and future obligations such as taxes. Decide your percentage now.
Reinvest wisely
Spend on things that grow income: better internet, power backup, a tool that saves hours. Avoid spending on things that only look impressive.
๐Ÿ’ฑ
Earning in dollars When you receive dollars through Payoneer, Grey or Wise, record the amount in dollars and the naira value on the day you convert. Exchange rates move, so tracking both shows your real income.
5Now You Try

Your 30-Day Launch Plan

Walk through the 4 weeks and set the launch date together
Here is your plan for the next 30 days. Pick your launch date right now and write it at the top of your workbook. I suggest the coming Monday. From that day, this plan becomes your daily guide.
Week 1
Finish and announce
  • Close any gaps from the launch audit
  • Post a "I am open for business" announcement on LinkedIn and WhatsApp status
  • Message 20 warm contacts
  • Publish your Fiverr gig if not yet live
Goal: 25+ outreach actions
Week 2
Daily outreach
  • 5 outreach actions every weekday
  • 2 LinkedIn posts about your services or journey
  • Follow up every reply within 24 hours
  • Book your first discovery calls
Goal: 2 discovery calls booked
Week 3
Convert
  • Run discovery calls with your script
  • Send proposals within 24 hours of each call
  • Follow up on open proposals after 3 days
  • Keep outreach going: never stop at "one promising lead"
Goal: 2 proposals sent
Week 4
Onboard and review
  • Onboard any new client with your Lesson 16 system
  • Review your outreach tracker: what worked?
  • Adjust your messages, niche or offer if needed
  • Plan the next 30 days
Goal: first client signed, or a clear plan to improve
๐Ÿ’ฌ
If no client signs in 30 days That is normal for some people and it does not mean you have failed. Look at your tracker. Few replies? Improve your messages. Calls but no yes? Improve your proposal or pricing. No calls at all? Increase your outreach volume. The data tells you what to fix.

7What Did You Create?

You Have Built a VA Business

Close Module 4 with pride and point to Module 5
Congratulations. You have completed Module 4. You now have a niche, packages, a brand, a professional online presence, an outreach system, a client conversion kit, a retention system, a one-page plan, and a 30-day launch plan. Many people talk about starting a VA business for years. You built one in six lessons.

Over the next 30 days, your only job is to follow the plan. Show up every day, do your five outreach actions, follow up quickly, and trust the process. Share your wins in our community, even the small ones. Every reply, every call, every "tell me more" is progress.

When you are ready, Lesson 19 opens Module 5, where we keep building on everything you have created so far. I am proud of you. Now go and launch.

Launch Prompts

Prompt 1: Create my one-page VA business plan
"Help me create a one-page business plan for my virtual assistant business. Details: Business name: [name]. Niche: [who I help]. Main problem I solve: [problem]. My packages and prices: [list in โ‚ฆ and $]. Where I will find clients: [channels]. My 90-day goal: [goal]. Organise this into a clear one-page plan with these headings: Who I Help, Problem I Solve, My Offer, How I Find Clients, 90-Day Goal, Daily Non-Negotiable. Keep each section to 1 to 2 lines. Then suggest one improvement to my positioning."
Keep it to one page. If it does not fit, it is not focused enough yet.
Prompt 2: Personalise my 30-day launch plan
"I am launching my VA business on [date]. My niche is [niche] and my main client channels are [channels]. I can work on my business [hours] per day. Create a 30-day launch plan split into 4 weeks: Week 1 finish and announce, Week 2 daily outreach, Week 3 convert, Week 4 onboard and review. For each week, give me 4 to 5 specific daily or weekly actions and one measurable goal. Make it realistic for my available hours."
Put each week's goal in your calendar so it greets you every Monday.
Prompt 3: Write my launch announcement
"Write a LinkedIn post announcing that I am officially launching my virtual assistant business, [business name]. I help [niche] with [services]. Share a short, personal reason why I started. Mention 2 to 3 specific ways I can help. End with a clear call to action: message me or share this with someone who might need support. Warm, confident, not boastful. 150 to 220 words. Also give me a shorter version for my WhatsApp status."
Ask 3 friends to comment early. Early engagement helps LinkedIn show your post to more people.
Prompt 4: Design my income and expense tracker
"Design a simple Google Sheets income and expense tracker for a Nigerian virtual assistant who earns in both naira and US dollars. Give me: (1) column headings for an Income tab (date, client, service, amount in โ‚ฆ, amount in $, exchange rate used, payment method, status), (2) column headings for an Expenses tab, (3) a Monthly Summary tab layout, and (4) the exact formulas to total monthly income in naira and show the percentage I should set aside as savings at [X]%."
Update it the same day you are paid. A tracker that is a month behind is not a tracker.
Prompt 5: Run my weekly launch review
"Here are my numbers for this week of my VA launch: outreach actions [number], replies [number], discovery calls [number], proposals sent [number], clients signed [number]. What went well: [notes]. What was hard: [notes]. Act as a supportive business coach. Tell me (1) what the numbers suggest is working, (2) the single biggest thing to improve next week, and (3) 3 specific actions for next week."
Run this every Friday for your first 4 weeks. Small weekly adjustments add up fast.
